# Teisora OS — install

> Teisora OS is an operating system for data: one binary, the engine and every tool in it; a config.yml is one island.

Every file named below is served from https://os.teisoratech.dev/releases/latest/ (a version: /releases/vX.Y.Z/).

## Pick one

- Debian/Ubuntu package (amd64, arm64): download `teisoraos_amd64.deb` or `teisoraos_arm64.deb`, then
  `sudo apt install ./teisoraos_amd64.deb`. apt installs the OS packages it depends on (tesseract, poppler-utils,
  postgresql-client, sqlite3, ...). The binary lands in /usr/bin/teisora.
- One binary (linux-amd64, linux-arm64, darwin-amd64, darwin-arm64): download `teisora-<os>-<arch>`, check it against
  `SHA256SUMS`, `chmod +x`, put it on PATH. Then `teisora fix-deps` installs the same OS packages (Ubuntu; `--dry-run`
  lists them first).
- Homebrew (macOS, Linux): `brew tap teisora/os https://os.teisoratech.dev/homebrew-teisora.git`, then
  `brew install teisora/os/teisoraos`. The formula downloads the binary from /releases/, checks its sha256 and
  installs its dependencies (poppler, tesseract, tesseract-lang, libpq, sqlite, zstd, libarchive).
- Container: `teisora packme | docker build -t teisora -` builds an image from the binary you have.

## Verify

## After install: what to read, in order

1. `teisora` with no arguments: where to start, for an agent and for a person.
2. `teisora instructions --core`: the rules that matter most.
3. `teisora instructions`: the whole contract of the binary.
4. `teisora skills index`, then `teisora skills NAME`: a config to copy, one case per skill.
5. `teisora show tree`: every command, one line each.

## First island

## Licenses

`teisora licenses` prints the licenses and third-party sources the binary carries (BusyBox GPL-2.0 source, jq, Miller);
`teisora licenses --export DIR` writes them out.
